10 Week 360 Plan: Barre Toning - Lengthen, Strengthen & Tone
Reviews from VideoFitness
Denise leads this 31 minute barre toning workout in a nice studio with 2 backgrounders. The workout is broken down into 3 segments, the last 2 utilize light dumbbells for the majority of exercises. You will also need a chair (or barre) for balance.
After a warmup, barre: plies adding releve, tondu, plies on your toes adding pulses, back attitude, and rear leg glute pinch. Fat Blasting Barre: weighted knee pulls, upper back fly & overhead raises while keeping the lower body moving, attitude with weighted arm circles, frong leg raise w/ static dumbbell hold, side leg raise to weighted arms extended, pedal jogs, tricep push backs. Pilates: weighted alternating upper back fly, muscle man bi curls, chair reach out & back, weighted torso twists, hip shifts with weighted upper body, floor pilates leg circles & raises, weighted hundred, single leg stretch, can can, and weighted saw. There is no stretch segment.
I rate these solid intermediate routines. Denise provides just the right amount of reps, doesnt rep you to death but lets you feel the burn. While the focus is toning, many of the exercises did get my heart rate up a bit. I enjoyed the workout and like that it contains 3 shorter segments- it makes the time go by fast! Denise recommends using 1-2 pound weights, I used 3-5#'s and I did feel the burn. I received this DVD to review.
